Privacy Policy for Samurai Quest
Samurai Quest does not require an account and does not sell personal information. The game is a web app and requires an internet connection to load and play. The current app stores gameplay progress locally on the player's device or browser storage.
Information We Collect
Local Gameplay Data
Samurai Quest stores limited gameplay data locally so the game can remember progress between sessions. This may include:
- Campaign progress and unlocked phases
- Unlocked kata forms
- Survival best score and recent local run history
- Tutorial prompts already viewed
- Gameplay settings such as single-wield, dual-wield, seated, or standing mode
- Per-run performance summaries used for the result screen until the next run starts
This data is stored on the player's device or browser storage and is not transmitted to our servers by the current build.
Device and Controller Input
During gameplay, Samurai Quest uses Meta Quest headset and controller input to enable VR interaction, sword movement, timing, and target slicing. This input is processed during gameplay to run the experience. The current build does not store raw headset tracking data, controller movement data, hand tracking data, microphone audio, camera images, or room scans.
Network and Analytics
The current build does not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, online accounts, online leaderboards, multiplayer services, chat, or user-generated content services.
The app may load bundled local assets such as audio files and game resources needed for gameplay. This is part of running the app and is not used for tracking players.
How We Use Information
Samurai Quest uses local gameplay data to:
- Save campaign progress
- Save unlocked kata forms
- Save Survival scores
- Remember selected gameplay settings
- Avoid showing completed tutorial prompts repeatedly
Sharing Information
The current build does not share local gameplay progress, headset/controller input, or player activity with third parties. We do not sell personal information.
Data Retention and Deletion
Local gameplay data remains on the player's device or browser storage until it is deleted by the player, cleared by the browser/device, or removed by uninstalling or resetting the app.
Players can delete local data by clearing the app's site data/browser storage or uninstalling the app, depending on the distribution method.
Children
Samurai Quest is not designed to collect personal information from children. The current build does not include accounts, chat, multiplayer, ads, or user-generated content.
Security
Because the current build stores progress locally and does not transmit gameplay data to our servers, no server-side player account database is maintained for Samurai Quest. Players should still use their device and Meta account security settings to protect local app data.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if Samurai Quest changes, including if future versions add analytics, online leaderboards, accounts, crash reporting, multiplayer, support forms, purchases, or other online services. The updated policy will show a new "Last updated" date.
